Discipline!!…

Been busy is very different from been productive….. The primary key isn’t spending time, it’s investing it…. Time is more valuable than money.. The way you invest your time and what you invest in it, determines your altitude later in life. Why not turn your advance worrying to advance thinking and planning?? with just DISCIPLINE.

The word “discipline” is from the Latin word disciplina meaning “instruction and training”. It’s derived from the root word discere — “to learn.”

What is Discipline?

Discipline is the act of training people to adopt a particular code of behavior or conduct but in this case, we are dealing with ourselves..Discipline brings stability and structure into a person’s life. . If there were no discipline, people would do whatever they wanted and make mistakes without putting the consideration of others first .Discipline also bring order to one’s life.

How is discipline connected to success???

The single most important attribute to becoming successful is self-discipline. It helps you stay focused on reaching your goals, gives you the gumption to stick with difficult tasks, and allows you to overcome obstacles and discomfort as you push yourself to new heights. You know its often said that discipline is the bridge between GOALS  and ACCOMPLISHMENT and why is that? it’s so simple. Take for instance a student with a goal of A’s in all his/her paper and prior to the test or exam such student hasn’t even read trust me, all will be just like a dream without proper discipline to bend down and study hard…. or a person who is new in Christ and has this goal of winning souls or burning for Christ without digging deep into the bible or praying, it will remain a goal without accomplishment.

What exactly am i supposed to discipline?

Someone might say well, let me just try to discipline myself to read or pray…. It doesn’t stop there. You are supposed to discipline all of you! Your mind, your eyes, your ear, your appetite, your yearnings, your hands, your legs, your character, i mean, all of you should be disciplined to obtain the most of life because there are places in life, where your study nor your talent will get you to but your character

Mental toughness is many things and rather difficult to explain. Its qualities are sacrifice and self-denial. Also, most importantly, it is combined with a perfectly disciplined will that refuses to give in. It’s a state of mind — you could call it character in action.” — Vince Lombardi

DISCIPLINE THE BODY!!

You know man is of the physical and the spiritual. We are spirit beings living in a container called the body but sometimes, that body tends to lord over the spirit. So how do we discipline the body ? because trust me, the body is one that don’t like stress and if it is followed, can lead you to misery and frustration. There was a particular time in my life when my body was lord over me, i mean, i was lazy, i wouldn’t just want to do any work because i feel it’s stress and little did i know that i was heading towards failure but i realized soon than later that i was harming myself . You don’t expect to be lazy and say you want to become great, it’s not possible. “With great ambition/goal comes great responsibility”- let it stick… There is an aspect of discipline i call self-control; anybody that aspires greatness in life needs this virtue because even as you move on in life, you will encounter lots of people , some are just there naturally to anger you, some are there to frustrate you, some are there to lift you, some are there to test you. The earlier to recognize that where you are now isn’t your bus-stop the better for you, and the easier for you because you will learn to move despite all odds and attempt to frustrate you… It can be very funny sometimes but do know that you frustrate yourself most of the time? how? by comparing yourself with others.. Learn to celebrate little victories, yes… it is going to keep you disciplined on achieving the very best.. I do that a lot!!! I will say the greatest enemy of success if not tamed, is the BODY!! Tame your body, there are many ways your body can stop you from reaching your desired goal if not tamed; tame your appetite, your character, your tongue(its very little but can destroy if not tamed), your organs(unnecessary urge can destroy you; will discuss on sex later)

HOW TO DISCIPLINE YOUR BODY..

1)Take radical and conscious steps.

2) Be accountable to someone superior.

3)Know your weakness.

4)Create new habits by keeping it simple

5)1Corithians 9:27

6) Set a goal never to succumb to temptations and always have an execution plan.

7)Involve God!!

DISCIPLINE THE SPIRIT!!

Someone may say. discipline the spirit again?? yes my dear. It isn’t enough to be born again, we have to take responsibility for it! and for that the enemy will fight it… but we have to stay to stay strong in the spirit. It’s just like telling me you want to work wonders for Christ and you barely even read your bible, it doesn’t work that way, you have to be an addict reader of the word and prayer.. The enemy might bring so many reasons why it shouldn’t be so remember that even Jesus had to be disciplined too if not, he would have fallen for the devils temptation.

HOW DO I DISCIPLINE MY SPIRIT?

1)Meditation

2)Brokenness

3)Prayer

4)Fasting

5)Listening to messages that edifies

6)Never forsake the gathering of brethren’s (an idle man is the devils workshop)

7)Making conscious efforts

8) Be an addict reader of the word and let it minister to you.

9) Struggle never to be a ‘microwave’ Christian (hot outside, cold inside)…

You may ask why is spiritual discipline so important? You will develop not only a deeper relationship with God, but with all people surrounding you, because spiritual discipline help develop better attitudes, more stable emotions, good thoughts, and kindness towards all. Spiritual disciplines help enrich our lives and in turn help us enrich the lives of others around us and it gives us spiritual stamina for the journey ahead.

”wake up with determination and go rom bed with satisfaction” this cam be achieved only with the help of DISCIPLINE….. You know, the easiest way to do many things, is to do one at a time because if you keep doing many things at a time in the na me of being being busy, you will find out at the end of the day that’s you have only wasted time and you cannot produce anything that you actually achieved.. remember time lost, an never be regained..

Time management in the place of discipline can not be over emphasized ..

DISCIPLINE is the bridge between goals and accomplishment!!!

Of course discipline has benefits attached to it..

1)Allows you to achieve goals by weeding out distractions.

2)Gives you a positive outlook.

3)Makes you a lifelong learner.

4)Helps you meditate regularly.

5)Overcoming laziness and procrastination

6)Give you an edge against odds both physically and spiritually

7)Helps you to stop acting on impulse

8)Your guilt goes down

9)You have your priorities lined up

10)You feel fulfilled.

These are few of the benefits of Discipline!!!!

You know:

Stay disciplined!!🥰💝
